Hand-crafted topical products for skin and hair
At Before Virchow, we craft luxury skin and hair products by starting with organic, cold-pressed carrier oils including jojoba, almond, grapeseed, olive, apricot, and others, and gently infusing them with the highest quality, organic, dried calendula, chamomile, and red clover flowers, all renowned for their ability to support and protect skin. We then expertly blend the infused carrier oils with organic, unrefined seed butters, including shea and cacao, and waxes including candelilla and beeswax. Once removed from the heat, we add natural UV blockers in the form of raspberry & carrot seed oils, and blue chamomile oil. At the very end, we add pure essential oils for delightful and uplifting aromatic effects.
Hand-crafted dental care products
At Before Virchow, we know that good oral health is fundamental to being your best self, so we prioritize dental care by crafting toothpowders made from only calcium carbonate powder, Redmond's pure mineral salt from Utah, baking soda, bentonite clay, ground Black Walnut hulls, and either ground cinnamon, cloves, or peppermint and their respective essential oils. Cinnamon, cloves, and peppermint have a long history of use in dental care, and peppermint is still commonly used to flavor commercial toothpastes. North American Black Walnut hulls are purported to support tooth enamel. For this reason, we also craft a pulling oil using organic, unrefined coconut oil gently heat infused with ground Black Walnut hulls. Elixirs, powder mixes, & herbal tea blends for clients
We formulate bespoke compounded extract elixirs, powder mixes, and herbal tea blends, as well as topical skin & scalp salves and muscle balms, for our consultancy clients.
Compounding services for Clinical Herbalists
We work with other clinical herbalists to compound medicinal herb formulas, including elixirs made using our double-extract percolation funnel method, powder mixes, and herbal tea blends. We also make infused syrups, honeys, oxymels, and specialty foods.
